artist statement

Drawing inspiration from the natural world and discovering textures created through erosion and growth is a starting point for my functional and sculptural pieces. 

While working on a piece, my mind wanders as the piece guides me. Not looking at the end result, I explore the clay as if it were the earth’s geography that I am traveling. It is clay that becomes a vehicle for my explorations
